My background is in fashion design and art history. I am very active and I enjoy being outside. I love to read, sew, and make jewelry, hike, swim, cook and arts and crafts. I don’t mind light house work at all and would be happy to help around the house. I am the youngest of four kids and when we’re growing up everyone had chores. I feel like some responsibility is healthy as well as being active and getting outside, My past childcare experience (from the most recent) is helping to raise my nephew who is now 11 months old. I had actually moved out to Los Angeles to pursue my career in fashion design but I ended up moving back to Virginia right before my sister had my nephew. I watched him being born and I now live with and take care of him 2-3 days a week. I take him grocery shopping and out to run errands. I also take him to his monthly check-ups, to play dates, for walks and out to eat. I work with him daily on his social and motor skills. I truly have been blessed to have him in my life! Before I moved in with my sister and nephew the last time I was a nanny was about 5 years ago for a newborn and I cared for her for 2 plus years. When I cared for this family I would typically go to the family’s house and hang out while the mom worked in the house or on her own work (she was an artist). I was in charge of feeding, changing, and play activities. I also have experience with substitute teaching and teaching art at summer camps. I love children of all ages. My background is in art and fashion design which I have some experience teaching in. I love kids and I love their enthusiasm for life! It’s fun to see them develop and learn and grow in a positive environment. I cherish the little things in life and kids are just that.
