Sitter Job in Dexter, Michigan

My wife and I are working professionals looking for a very unique and special individual that can help with both being a nanny for our two sons when they are not at school and also doing clerical work in my wife’s dental office when the boys are in school. Her office, our home, and the kids’ schools are all centrally located in the Dexter area. The person we hire must be capable to help with the office, but more importantly needs to be wonderful for our two boys (at times jumping between the two roles at a moment’s notice). Our current nanny, who has been with us for over 7 years and who we will miss dearly, is leaving to start her own family. The position is 35-40 hours/week (Monday-Thursday) and possible 4 hours on some Fridays. With the role as nanny, you must be not only kind, friendly, and loving, but also well-organized and extremely dependable. Our two sons are 12 and 9. Our oldest son has autism. He is very happy and loving, but his autism brings challenges that require us to hire someone very special to meet his needs. Having prior experience with special needs children would be preferred. You must be a safe and competent driver to transport our children from school and possibly other activities. During the summer, when our children are out of school, your primary role will be with the children. Other duties include helping with homework, laundry, dishes, light cleaning, and some cooking. With the role as dental office staff, you should have excellent customer service and computer skills, with the ability to multi-task. Prior dental office experience is not required. Some key duties include answering phones, scheduling patients, entering/maintaining patient records and charts, verifying insurance, processing office bills, and some other clerical tasks.
