I love working with children, especially when I see the delight on their faces when they're successful! I enjoy getting down on the floor and interacting with kids - playing games, building with blocks, playing with cars, as well as painting, drawing, singing, dancing and doing crafts. I am a very patient, kind and nurturing caregiver. I try to use redirection and positive reinforcement as a response to undesired behavior and work closely with parents to establish consistency. I use a journal system or email to keep daily notes for parents and also use email, face time, and phone calls to communicate as often as desired as established by parents. My background is in education and I have over 11 years experience working with children including teaching kindergarten in Montgomery County Maryland, teaching second grade English as a second language, Teaching preschool ages infants, ones, 18 months, twos, threes and fours. I also taught Head Start preschool age and most recently provided childcare as a nanny for a family with three children ages four months 18 months and 10 years. I'm Delaware and Maryland certified to teach kindergarten through second grade and elementary school I also hold DELAWARE first certifications for early care center Administrator, Curriculum Coordinator, and teacher I am certified in CPR, first aid, to administer medications and have had training to identify seizures. I have recently passed a physical, tested negative for TB and passed the Delaware State police background check. I absolutely adore cats and dogs and other little critters so I would enjoy working with a family who has pets.
