I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I have been working with kids for the last 7 years and now with my own young children. For the last 2 years I have been teaching and running an academically focused Pre-K program while we were living overseas. We will spend our mornings focusing on academics. This will include focusing on writing and fine-motor skills, letter recognition and other pre-reading skills, number recognition and pre-math skills, as well as science experiments, author studies and plenty of hands-on learning opportunities. Our mornings will be fairly structured to help children prepare for Kindergarten, while our afternoons will leave more time for independent play and child-led activities. My goal is to ensure that kids feel secure and respected in a predictable, loving environment. This will allow them to begin their academic career feeling in control and will develop a love of school and learning.
