Sitter in Yonkers, New York

I have been babysitting off and on, for about 6 years and have worked with children ranging between the ages of 2 and 12 years old. Babysitting was my source of income throughout high school and college, and has always been something that I have enjoyed. Throughout my years in Yonkers, I had the opportunity to become very close with the families for whom I babysat and definitely had the experience of both, staying overnight and vacationing with them, as well. I have stayed over not only during emergencies, but also in prearranged situations, where the parents just needed a night away from the house. My duties as a babysitter included everything, from taking the children to school, to doctor appointments, sport practices/games as well as getting them up and ready for school. I was making lots of healthy meals, going to the park or library, helping them clean up their rooms, and pretty much, everything under the sun! I have so many favorite babysitting experiences; I don't know where I would start. I really do enjoy the times when I know I'm making a positive impact in the child's life. I am always very encouraging of the children and it's really fun for me to see how interested they get, when they feel like they are learning or becoming better at something they like to do. These times tend to be the most rewarding for me. My proudest babysitting moment was when the 2-year-old girl had been out of town for a while. The first day I babysat her when she came back from her trip, I opened her front door and she came running into my arms, telling me that she missed me so much and she said, "It's been too long!" She gave me a big hug and kisses and told me she loved me. It was the greatest feeling, ever!
