Job Duties • Help prepare children for Kindergarten introducing concepts they will explore further in kindergarten and elementary school • Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and subject matter • Assist the lead teacher in carrying out curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor and social skills • Help organize activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents • Help with supervision of children insuring their safety and welfare • Help with daily classroom set up and take down, maintain a clean, organized environment Experience/Education Requirements • Minimum 2 year course work in early childhood education or related field • Minimum 1 year experience working in a school or for profit child care setting • Must pass background check and have complete record of immunizations • Certification in CPR and first aid a plus Program Description Kinder Tots is a unique, recreation- based child care program that jump starts children’s readiness for Kindergarten. The purpose is to provide a cooperative and developmentally appropriate program that supports the care and early learning needs of 3 to 5 years old. We offer a variety of activities including math, music, social skills, arts, science and fine and large motor skills in a more relaxed, recreational environment. Work Schedule Mondays – Thursdays, 9am-12pm. 10 month position that follows the Minneapolis Public Schools calendar. Pay Rate $10.32/hr. Please send resumes to Maggie at [email protected]
