Sitter in Sherman, Texas

I am the proud grandmother of a 4 year old that stays with us and am looking to keep 2 to 3 other children his age with us as to encourage the learning process through friendship, socialization and sharing. We live on 11 acres in Tom Bean and I love gardening, outdoor activities and reading and I would LOVE to share that with others for the sake of learning at home. I do not have a Child Care License but have had 4 children of my own and have a BA in Psychology so I am not new to children and their needs. At my home, we will be out of doors learning about all things nature: bugs, gardens, tractors, rocks, trees, fruits, vegetables and such. I also am big into reading to my grandson...the classics and children's favorites. I have an extensive library having had a large family of my own. I encourage exercise, movement and imaginary play so get ready for tall tales when they get home! BRING SUNSCREEN! I am also a big fan of playgrounds and museums. My grandson love dinosaur bones and the play areas in the Dallas Museum of Science and Natural History and that of the Perot Museum. If you don't mind field trips, this will be a great time for your child. As for meals, I will be happy to share breakfast, lunch and/or dinner with you as needed. At our home, we eat only healthy meals prepared by me and with only the best ingredients such as those that we grow from the garden, buy from community garderners and unprocessed foods. I am a firm believer that EXCELLENT food encourges EXCELLENT growth. We never eat fried foods and are heavy with fresh veggies and fruits. I will not do Government subsidies or Tax Forms as I am NOT a licensed daycare but a grandmother that wants to share learning with other families. It will be a cash payment arrangement.
