Hello all, Im Malia and I am a 20 year old College student. I currently attend Washburn University in Topeka, and am studying to get my bachelors degree in Social Work. I have 57 college credit hours in social work courses, as well as nursing courses, and am also certified in CPR, First Aid, Relational Mandt, and have been trained on administering medications, and many other courses. I have worked at Family Service & Guidance Center in Topeka where I was responsible for working one-on-one with children who have behavioral health barriers and are diagnosed with a severe emotional disorder. I have also worked at Cottonwood INC. in Lawrence where I was a residential specialist, responsible for providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Throughout both of these jobs I have learned how to work with both adults, and children. As well as individuals of all ages who have behavioral health problems, and developmental disabilities. I have also been certified in many courses, some of which listed above, and have had lots of hands on training in various situations. I m certain that all of the skills I have acquired from school and my previous jobs, will make me an excellent caregiver for families of all needs.
