I am a single mom of 2 boys that are 11 and 13, and in school all day. I used to offer daycare in my home and stopped for a while, but I have decided the need is still there, so I am opening my home again. I am not a daycare center, I want to be clear, I am not school, if your looking for school, this is not it, but those little babies need love and attention in those first years, school will come when they are a little bigger. I do teach ABC's and counting and colors and all those good things, their time is not just a waist, we read and play and color, I just want to be clear, I believe, at those young baby ages, they need love and attention, that's what's important. I also do not child-proof my home, I believe that breeds laziness, if everything is locked there is the feeling that the children are safe and no longer need to be watched all the time, that is false. Also, I believe in teaching them what is and isn't safe so if they are at someone else's house, they have the knowledge needed to be safe. I have had such a strong response that I am now full in my daytime positions, unless you are looking for part-time and that would depend on how many hours you are looking for. I still have 3rd shift wide open and I know daycare for this shift can be hard to find, so I will continue to offer it. I do not over-fill my home. I have my mom here with me, all the time as she lives with me, so there are always 2 adults and my 13 year old is YWCA Babysitting certified, but there will still NEVER be 4 children per one adult. I like to focus on newborns and under 2, because I think that is my strong suit as I am not a school, but I will determine if I can assist you on a case by case basis. My rates are very reasonable, you will never pay even close to $200 a week for one child! That is ridiculous to me, even for full time. I don't have as many day spots open as I do evening and night, but if you need daycare, please, feel free to call or email me and tell me what you are looking for and I will tell you whether I can cover it or not. I am right in Weston, just 2 blocks off of Hwy. 29, so I am very easy to get to, no matter where you are in the Wausau area.
