Hi, my name is Joely...I am 49 years old, I have been married since I was 18 years old to the same man, I am a mother of 3...2 Girls and a boy...28,24, and 18. I also have a grandson who is 6 yrs old and in first grade. I have always been told how great I was with kids and have the most patience anyone has ever seen. I took up babysitting as a favor for friends or friends/family of friends because there was no one else they trusted. Which I completely understand! When my kids were little and I had to find a job outside of the home, I only trusted my kids with my grandma...The day I brought each of my babies home from the hospital , I started seeing all of these babysitter horror stories. When my grandma could no longer watch them for me due to health reasons, I never looked for another babysitter. My grandma became ill before my son was born. So...he never was away from me...NEVER!!! I had to get a job ,where I could take him to work with me, which I did! The children, past and present that I watch/watched are/was always excited to come here. I have many many references whom you're are more than welcome to contact. I completely understand how a parent is about taking your child to the babysitter, to me that would be the most stressful thing ever. I try to keep everything as open as possible ...example---I tell the parent they don't have to let me know if you get off work early unless... you want your child ready to go at a certain time so you don't have to wait , it's up to you . I have nothing to hide and try to prove it in any way I can , just because of how traumatized I was about the whole situation, I didn't even trust schools...and I mean elementary , middle, AND high school. Right now I am babysitting a 2 year old and her momma is highly protective. She knew nothing bad was happening to her daughter because of how happy she was when they was driving down the street and would sometimes cry when it was time to leave . But still she was skeptical . We are now at a place where her daughter stays the whole weekend here because it is more convenient for both of them .
