I learned how to foster a safe environment for the kids while interacting with them on a mentoring level. The majority of experience with Mobile Rock was spent working our hand crafted rock walls. During that time I met many kids who were not sure of themselves, may of not thought they could get to the top, or even decided they shouldn’t give it a chance; I wasn’t going to let that fly. I wanted all those kids to succeed because I knew they could do it with a little guidance and belief. On the other side of the spectrum, there were kids who were fearless, who I loved climbing with just to see their excitement for life. Starting at age 12, I was gifted with my first little sister, by age 15 I had another little sister and by 18, a little brother was born. Over the years, I became the around the clock babysitter, cooking certain nights, making sure they got their bath, getting them to bed on time, and cleaning up once everyone was all tucked in. Fostering multiple children’s wellbeing and happiness became a natural element of my life; I loved every passing moment. 6 years of babysitting Due to growing up around a big family with a lot of friends, I became the community babysitter. My jobs varied from watching a one year old, a crazy pair of siblings, sitting for date nights, and watching multiple kids of different families for parties. Such moral obligations to family occasionally required me to be up and Adam as early as three in the morning so the mother could start her day. Needless to say, the seemingly omnipresent preparedness and duties I held all became quite regular for me, and the experience was simply enjoyable.
