I am a 52 year old Portuguese woman, oldest of 4 siblings. Have a l ways enjoyed playing with children, creating art from milk cartons, cotton balks, popsicle sticks, etc.... lol recycle reuse. Quiet time for me with children is reading stories to them and having them making sounds related to the story, be it train sounds, car honking, etc...,I find doing this keeps them focused on the story that I am reading and the children seem to have a great time shocking me with their unique sounds.
