Hi families. I am passionate about quality childcare & helping children reach their developmental milestones through a variety of educational activities & play. I am an educator, I believe children do not need constant entertainment and catering to.. it is as important for them to socialize as it is to learn to play and read independently. Learning to complete age appropriate chores, putting clothes out for the next day, preparing their snack, cleaning up afterwards, dishes in the dishwasher helps kids feel self sufficient boosting self esteem as well :-) I grew up in an Italian/Canadian home where respect and 'everyone helps out' were highlighted. along with Lasagna :-p Very nurturing, relationship focused and I use gentle discipline. Children usually love me because I am firm, playful, funny & let them explore their environment( safely). Plenty of outdoor activities and less media.. thumbs up. Contrary to popular belief children like structure and to know the adults are in charge.. it makes them feel safe. I am professional, trustworthy & responsible. I have completed Special Care Counseling in specialized care across the lifespan at Vanier College, therefore I can provide care/services to typical children, special needs children( verbal or not), adolescents and older adults with Dementia or other impairments. I have been working 10 years for Youth Protection(DYP Batshaw) where I still take shifts on call at residential group homes. ( like foster homes but with more structure) I am flexible and able to adapt to most family's routine & structure. I love outdoor activities, park time, sports, swimming & biking. I am available weekdays Tuesday-Friday for afternoon pick ups & can work nights or weekends. :) ( I love cooking and preparing healthy meals however I do not buy, handle or cook raw meat. I am Vegan. If the meat is already cooked, I can be flexible and heat and serve it to your children. ) Light housekeeping & laundry if requested :-)❗ Unfortunately I am not good at Ironing. I also have a cat in case of allergies. I dress comfortably and casually.
