Hi I'm Ben Smith!! I'm 17 years old and will be a senior in high school next year! I attend Shawnee Mission South High School and here are my activities: I'm a pep club executive, on academic decathlon, member of our schools radio and video production crew (on which I won the national title in On-Air Reporting), all-state choir member, president of the experience music, Rec volleyball, ultimate frisbee, chess, and young Americans for Liberty clubs! I have a 3.7 GPA and plan on attending college in 2018-19. I am a Boy Scout and working on my last requirements towards Eagle Scouts. I have experience being a leader towards younger children in my Troop but I was also a swimming merit badge and lifesaving merit badge counselor, so I worked with 11-12 year olds on swimming and lifesaving respectively. I also worked as a lifeguard at that camp. The children of 3 different sessions gave me their favorite counselor award and I was also recognized by the top of the leadership at the camp with a coin meant to be bestowed on those who best represent scouting. I work as a lifeguard at prairie life part-time where I guard primarily children. I've also taught swim lessons there for primarily 5-9 year olds. I've always had great relationships with my younger family and younger scouts. I am CPR certified and First Aid certified. I'm actually one requirement away (defibrillator training) from being EMT certified. I hope you consider me for this job as I'm trying to work as much as possible to save for a car, an endeavor I've been trying to accomplish since 14. But I will be able to get consistent rides to and from your home. I would consider myself very playful and as a child I found a plethora of ways to have fun. I can assist in helping on video games or arts and crafts, I can commit to playing make believe or pretend and I'll make sure that when the floor is lava and they're jumping from furniture item to furniture item they won't knock anything over and break it!
