My goal as a child care provider is to offer complete, safe, and loving care to all children I have the privilege of supervising. I've had many jobs/positions in the child care environment, and absolutely adore children. My mother has had an in-home day care since before I was born, so I grew up around children and helping her on a daily basis. From age 13-18, I did a lot of babysitting for neighbors and family friends. Their children ranged from 3 months to 11 years old. Also when I was 16, I was a summer nanny for two boys, age 8 and 12. Most of my duties included taking the boys to various camps and activities, cooking them breakfast and lunch, light cleaning and housekeeping, helping them with summer school homework, and, most importantly, spending lots of time playing outside and having tons of fun. Personally, I love spending free time outside, reading, and doing crafty activities. I love being able to do these things with children, and many more as a nanny, which is why I enjoy this job so much. Watching them learn, and grow is always rewarding. Since then I have had on and off care giving, and none care giving jobs while working through school. I spent a year studying abroad in Sweden, and had the opportunity to work with a few multicultural families and their children. I'm very comfortable with children of all age ranges, consider myself very upbeat, flexible, dependable, and positive in nearly all situations. I have been certified for both CPR and First aid, and plan to get both updated/renewed in the next few weeks. I also have my own car, and am able to transport children to any activities, planned or spontaneous.
