I have 3 nieces and one nephew and have watched them all throughout their lives. When my niece was two and her little brother was one, I would care for them once I was out of school for the day. My time caring for them would start around 3pm until about 11 pm, sometimes later. When I arrived I would start dinner for them, after dinner was shower time. My nephew was still in diapers at the time and I believe my niece was starting to potty train. After showers and getting them into their pajamas, we would relax and get ready to go to bed, which was usually laying down and watching a movie to relax. I also washed the dishes and cleaned up around the house. While I was in high school, I also volunteered at a youth center where I made and served afternoon snacks, provided homework help, arranged outside activities, ran errands for the director, and organized the stock room. The ages at the center ranged from 6-17. I was also a Cabin leader for Campbell twice. During the week long camps, I ensured the safety of students in cabins, around camp, on trails, and in all activities. Made sure everyone including my self, were prepared for activities throughout the week. Took responsibility for students’ emotional and social well-being. Set clear and consistent expectations for students. Managed behavior of students in a positive and supportive manner. Communicated with students in a caring and respectful manner. d all students to be involved. Led activities and maintained a strong leadership presence. Kept staff informed of relevant student issues. I enjoy working with kids and have an amazing amount of patience with them. To see a child happy and to have somehow played a part in that happiness is a wonderful feeling. Don't worry if you have pets! I love animals, the more the merrier! I have six furbabies of my own, three cats and three dogs and will happily show their pictures off upon request.
