Sitter in Duncan, British Columbia

Hi, I am a 60 year old grandmother who raised her own two children as a single parent. I worked as a Certified Dental Assistant for over 20 years until arthritis in my wrists caused me to change vocations. I earned a BA in Psychology in 2004 but ended up teaching English in Korea with that. Once back in Canada I drifted around trying to find a niche working at whatever came along. Some work as a nanny but for the most part I worked in retail. Unhappy with that I finally I took the Early Childhood Educators Assistant's course and have enjoyed being back with children. I excel in child care and am adaptable to many ages. I will do any and all care pertaining to children: dressing, toileting, preparing and feeding meals, entertaining, educational training, crafting, outside park play and nature adventures. I am willing to do light general house work including clearing the table and cleaning the dishes and kitchen after meals. I don't mind laundry but I am no longer up to vacuuming, wall/window washing and any deep cleaning and maintenance of the home. Of course general clean up after any activity bathing, crafting, eating etc. I have the ECEA Certificate, current CPR and Criminal Record Check and have take many courses in nutrition, counselling and Child Development. I am currently living in Vernon BC but want to move back to the Island- Duncan area is a preference but don't mine commuting to Chemainus Ladysmith, Coble Hill, Mill Bay or Cowichan Bay areas. I prefer a live out position but may consider living in with the right people. I am willing to drive to the Island for an interview on a Saturday afternoon. I am willing to negotiate the wage but will be looking for a ball park of around $15.00 per hr. I have clean drivers abstract and can pickup children from school and take to appointments/activities etc. I hope to have a start date around the 1st of May but can push it up to simply a two week notice.
