I have had an ample experience with taking care of children, at any age range and children with disabilities. I am aware that in order to establish an adequate work environment, it has to go beyond the mere task for monetary reward. With this in mind, I make sure I develop a safe and comfortable relationship with the kids I take care of. My priority is to make sure the children are safe, that they feel they can trust me as their care taker, and that things are run according to parental demand. A typical work day includes feeding them ( based on parental preferences on food), helping them with homework, if they need help showering, playing with them a board game or storytelling, and putting them to bed. I always make sure to inform myself on child development to understand the children I am working with better, and ways I can connect with them to ensure trust.
