I'm an
Individual
Hey everyone, I am currently 19 years old and in 2016 I worked as an Assistant manager at a trampoline park. And from October 2016- end of June 2017 I had traveled around Cambodia, Thailand, Malawi Africa, and Guatemala helping kids in very impoverished conditions. I am first Aid/ CPR certified, I have my Food Handlers license, and I am fingerprinted. My experience at a kid’s trampoline park led me to encounter tons of different scenarios with children. • Put on birthday parties/other large events and dealt with any problems that occurred -Made sure the family(s) and child(children) had the best experience while sticking to the schedule of the party/ event. -kept the children excited and full of energy by putting on dodgeball tournaments, rock-climbing battles, and being just as excited as they were for their special day. • Excellent under pressure and when things don’t go according to plan - Called 911 for a child severely injuring their wrist. Had quick action in using what was around me to make a quick splint for the child. Cut a long piece of cardboard and used tap to secure it while we waited for paramedics. Also worked with calming down the child and the mom in advising her to let the paramedics come to us instead of her driving frantically to the hospital. -Called 911 for a man splitting open his head. Had quick action to use a shirt to stop the bleeding and again continued to calm the man down while waiting for the paramedics. - Dealt with lots of children fights (and adult) using quick action to get them to settle down and resolve the conflicts. -Reasoning with parents when they felt a problem has rose and helping to deal with the situation as smoothly as possible. I know every parent wants what is best for their child and children can be at times challenging but I am very used to things changing and can deal with them in a way that leaves everyone happy. In very impoverished conditions I was able, for 9 months; help out children all over the world for 1-3 months in each Country. • Cambodia -Taught 4-12 year olds beginning English with only a white board, one marker, no internet, no extra learning materials, but a big imagination and improvisation to give these wonderful kids the best schooling I could. (In Cambodia school is too expensive for a good amount of families so school was taught outside of a Cambodian house where I also lived with the family for the month). • Thailand -I put on and led English camps hosting over 200 underprivileged Thai children ages 4-8 years old. I taught them without using paper or pencils but led fun enthusiastic educational games since these children did not know how to read or write. -The few days out of the week when I was not putting on the camps, I was helping the outcasts of society (elderly who used to have Leprosy and now suffer with the repercussions of the disease). I would go and spend my time with them so they were not lonely. - Also worked in rice fields and Cassava fields giving the proceeds, I would have made from working the days, to the elderly with the repercussions of leprosy. • Malawi Africa(poorest part of Africa) -Helped in daycares/preschool to help nurture them and teach them some basic skills like good manners, please and thank you, sounds of the alphabet, numbers, etc. -Spoke in front of large crowds 4 days a week about living with good morals and how to live that out. • Guatemala -In Antigua I went to 4 different schools (one each day of the week) to teach the middle school/ high school students lessons on good morals ex. how to honor your mother and father, respecting one another, etc. -Chimaltenango (rural part of Guatemala) -led small groups for impoverished children ages 4-12 teaching them basic English, good morals, providing them a nutritious snack, and ending with an exciting game that left them not wanting to leave. - Helped put on police outreaches so the community could spend time with the police. These helped to start to tear down the persona that all police are bad. The community and police Planted over 700 trees together, I set up meals to feed the local community and police so they could sit down and chat, and they played soccer games together in indoor fields. - I put on soccer tournament fundraisers that the middle school and high school age kids could play to raise money for the schools in the community. I am a very positive person and anyone would tell you that I am always smiling. I am also very active. I enjoy running and I did cheerleading for many years. I would make sure your kids aren’t on the coach all day and do something active. :) I am very excited to come along side you and your family to help provide care for your child/children.
