I've been caring for children on & off for 26 years, and I would love to find a family who's looking for the last puzzle piece to complete their perfect picture! Have worked with ages 1 month to 14 years old, but am particularly fond of working with younger children! My most recent full-time position was with a family of 3 children as a full-time Nanny and household manager, ages 1, 3, and 4 (6 months when I started). I absolutely was in love with all of them and worked with them for 8 great months! It didn't work out, as they moved and I didn't want to move with them, so I'm looking for a new position that's as great a fit as that was. Before that, for 3 years, I was a full-time nanny for 13-year-old twin girls and also worked with their 11-year-old twin brothers, both of whom are on the autism spectrum. I was in almost complete control of the every day chaotic schedule! My "normal" day consisted of: preparing meals, getting children up and ready for school, making beds, daily laundry for 5-6 people, organizing households, caring for the dog, running errands for the parents, driving ALL over DFW to take the kids to their many activities, and homework. I also stayed with the children for days at a time when the parents traveled. I was more of a nanny/household manager in my previous position as well. I believe that learning should be fun and love to incorporate learning into the fun activities that I do with the kids, i.e. museums, zoo, arboretum, aquarium, libraries. I have extremely high level academic skills to help kids of all ages. Coming from a corporate and event planning background, I'm very organized, disciplined, responsible, and detail oriented. However, I LOVE to have fun with the kids and am looking to become part of a family. Would really love to do overnights and travel with a family too if possible. I was also a lifeguard and competitive swimmer, so enjoy being in the pool and can offer swimming lessons as well!!! Along with being a swimmer, I also played every sport imaginable growing up, so I love being sporty and outdoors. I believe in keeping the kids busy so they're not growing up addicted to technology!
