I'm an
Individual
I specialize in very early childhood development, enhancing the physical, emotional and cognitive abilities of every child that is born to achieve, starting from birth. I use music, singing, rhyming, speech therapy techniques for language preparation, percussion instruments designed for young children, books and a myriad of educational toys. The earlier the child is introduced to these tried and true learning concepts developed by researchers who study how children learn from birth to 18 years, the earlier they will be able to crawl, walk, speak, read, and write. I also teach baby sign language to whatever degree the parents would like as sign language enhances brain development as well and helps decrease frustration in expressing their needs. It gives them some control and allows for early social skills. By using these early learning concepts, a caregiver can actually increase your child's IQ, especially if the parents, grandparents and other family or friend caregivers use them as well when interacting with their little 'student'. According to the latest findings in the past 3 years, the more you apply these simple strategies in age-appropriate ways, the neuron connection increase that result, will give your child a head start as opposed to children that don't get these kinds of educational stimuli at an early age. Best part of this learning is that it's fun for the child and the caregivers! Children are precious little people who are learning how to be a caring, loving, and creative. Having the knowledge and patience while they learn is key to not stifling their creative and seeking spirit. I do not believe in spanking or punishing children but use their mistake as a way to show them a better way to do things in a socially acceptable manner. I also teach some basic Spanish while teaching language to children from birth and beyond if the parents are agreeable and are willing to learn too (Assuming they are not already Spanish-speakers themselves. Your child will learn faster if all close relatives and family members that spend consistent time with your child, use these easy to learn techniques. It's also a lot of fun for the grandparents. I also do sleep-training for newborns (singletons or multiples) and can do hands-on training for the primary caregiver that takes care of the child at night, be it a relative, nanny or parent. Reading the sleep training books is one thing, but knowing just a few extra tips that we use in caring for newborns that allows a faster sleep-through-the-night result, sure helps the fatigued parents of newborns. I also have experience in medical monitoring of recently discharged preemies and other medically fragile babies that just need extra care and help after they get home. Feeding tubes (PEGs or NGs tubes), pulmo/cardio monitors and basic care within my scope as a Certified Nurses' Aide per the Arizona State Nursing Board Regulations and/or at the directions of the trained parents/case nurse or other allied health professionals that have authority to train me.

I have known Donna Dooley for nearly seven years when we considered her as a nanny for our twin infants and toddler. We decided on a child care center instead for financial reasons, but we stayed in touch with Donna ever since. She has been a trusted caregiver for our theee children since that time. We trusted her with our babies back then and still trust her with our twins who are now six and our nine year old. Donna is always on time (and usually early) and comes prepared to engage with our kids. She treats our children well and manages to straighten up for us as well. She is willing to provide sick child care and doesn't mind last minute requests to watch our kids. Donna is a treasure and I highly recommend her as a reliable, caring and trustworthy caregiver.
