I have recently returned to Ottawa, Ontario, after completing an Honours BSc. in Neuroscience at Carleton in 2017. I am presently seeking a part-time nanny position for the summer, in addition to my ongoing research work that relates to the MSc program that I will begin at Carleton University in September 2018. I have worked countless hours assistant-teaching mainly ballet, as well as jazz to preschool and kindergarten-aged children. I also worked at a local rec center in North Vancouver, assistant teaching preschool-aged ballet. Class sizes ranged from 5 students to 18 students, and I frequently taught classes alone. I spent my first summer post-university as a summer camp counselor in North Vancouver, where I had the opportunity to work with children of varied abilities, through ages 5-13. This job both enhanced my desire to work with children, and exposed me to many, many age- & ability-specific, exciting activities to do with them! In line with my passion for early development, my current research looks at the role of pre- and post-natal nutrition in early developmental outcomes. The focus of my graduate studies thesis will examine relationships between specific compounds in breast milk and cognitive developmental outcomes in early infancy. The jobs in which I have been able to work with kids have been, by far, the most memorable & fulfilling, and I am eager to seek out new, exciting opportunities for the upcoming Summer! I am also open to continuing on a more casual basis throughout the school year if it is the right fit!
