Sitter in Broussard, Louisiana

Hello. My family and I recently moved from Amarillo, TX to the Lafayette area after my husband accepted a wonderful promotion opportunity from Bell Helicopter. I've been a RN for 15 years and an EMT for 18. My most recent work experience is with chronically ill/disabled children of all ages in a home health setting. My husband's new position has allowed me to stay at home but I'd like to find a caregiving environment without all the restraints of nursing...just something to occupy my time while still being able to do what I love. I hold an active Texas nursing license and have applied for Louisiana licensure but, to be perfectly honest, I'm looking for something simpler and easy going for right now. I have most of my nursing experience in critical care followed by ER; I have some psychiatric nursing experience also and, as I mentioned, recent pediatric nursing credentials. I am trustworthy, a pet lover, 100% drug free, a non smoker, am flexible, have a reliable vehicle and i have a squeaky clean police record. I'd be able to work mon-fri at any time day or night but would prefer to work only until early afternoon on fridays. This is not a must but a strong preference. My husband is off fri-sun and we just really like to spend that time together. If you need a caregiver here and there on the weekends I'd be happy to oblige but prefer not to have recurring days on Saturday and Sunday. I am excited to be looking into this new field and look am forward to caring for healthy children, although special needs children are def not rule out. I would love them to pieces just as much. My only responsibility is taking care of my mostly independent mother who lives with us by managing her meds, taking her places that require driving, cooking, basic needs, etc. so last minute opportunities can be accepted.
