Sitter in Stouffville, Ontario

I am a third year psychology student at the University of Guelph who is home for the summer and looking for a babysitting position before I return as a camp counsellor in July. I have plenty of experience working with children of all ages one-on-one and in group settings. I spend my summer working at Aurora Montessori School as a camp counsellor where I am responsible for implementing a wide range of engaging activities, escorting and monitoring children on field trips to swimming lessons and gymnastics, and communicating professionally with parents regarding behavioural and social concerns. During the school year I volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph serving as a role model in group mentoring programs for girls ages 9-14. In this position, I am responsible for looking after a large group of children where I administer age-appropriate activities, discussions, and snacks to promote physical activity, balanced eating, and self-esteem. Additionally, I volunteer with the Learning Disabilities Association of Wellington County in an individualized one-on-one tutoring program for children struggling with reading. Furthermore, I am certified in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C and have a valid licence and my own car.
