My name is Cara Nelson and I am a recent graduate from Appalachian State University. I received my Bachelor's Degree majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Sociology. During my last semester, I interned full time for seventeen weeks with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. While my coursework was mostly geared towards the criminal justice system, I took the liberty of using some of my elective courses to take Family Development classes. My final GPA when I graduated was a 3.28 and I also received the recognition of making it to the Dean’s List for three semesters. I am also a lifetime member of the National Honors Society of Leadership and Success and the International Honors Society of Social Sciences. I started police academy in August but realized that it wasn’t the career path for me. I currently do not have a job, therefore I have all the time to dedicate to your little ones. I have a very strong work ethic and high integrity. I do not have extensive experience babysitting, but I have baby sat in the past before I went off to college. Most of my work experience is in customer and food service. I absolutely love interacting with and talking to people during my job and have great communication skills. I have little cousins (ages six and younger) that I spend a great deal of time with and love being around. I love kids and feel as though they keep the kid in all of us alive. I would provide any services need of me from watching your little one during the day, picking up and dropping off from school, after school care, night and weekend sitting if needed, etc. Also, if you have any pets that need attention, I am capable of providing that service as well.
