Thanks for inquiring, my name is Clayton Jacobson and I am a 20 year old student at the University of Waterloo. I am currently studying Social Development and in my fourth year I will be pairing it and getting my Bachelor of Social Work degree. Since a young age, I have always had a passion of working with children. My youngest opportunity begun when I was 10 years old. I did a summer volunteer position at Safe Haven in Toronto, a facility that allows parents to drop off their children with a wide range of disabilities. At Safe Haven, I played with the children, helped prepare the children for meals, as well as helped organize and clean the facility. My next position was paid at Five Peas in a Pod in Toronto for a span of 3 years. At Five Peas in a Pod I held the position of a Party Facilitator. Alongside another member, together we worked to setup a party room, organize and lead games/activities with the children, prepare and serve food and clean up the facility at the end of the party. Lastly, I have been a camp counsellor at Camp Tamakwa for the last 3 summers in Algonquin Park. I worked with the youngest children where I dealt with many different situations - the good, the bad and the ugly. I lived in a cabin with these children and also worked at the swim docks where I lifeguarded and taught swimming lessons. Through this position I have mastered conflict resolution and spontaneity for fun. I am open to most situations and I am very easygoing, I also would love to work in a pet friendly home as I have extra room in my heart for animals! I am qualified with CPR, Bronze Cross, and Smart Serve. I also have my drivers license, my own insurance, CAA membership and I am able to get proof of an accident and speeding ticket free license - I do not own my own car, but have driven many different makes and models and through many weather conditions.
