Sitter in Vancouver, British Columbia

Hi there! I am seeking a family who is looking for part time child care in the evening or weekends. My hope is to be able to work with a family in a long term arrangement. My availability is around 7-9am and after 3pm Monday-Friday, and usually anytime on weekends. I am currently employed Monday-Friday during the day as a cook in a large child care centre. My start/finish times there are somewhat flexible though. So depending on when you need child care, I can probabaly adjust my schedule a little to be available when needed. I am a trained Chef and nutritionist, and have been cooking for many years. However I've been working in my current job for 6 years, and I love working around children. I have experience with caring for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. So I love to cook meals and teach children about food and nutrition. I don't mind helping with cooking/cleaning at all either! I have valid First Aid, CPR and foodsafe. I have taken many child care courses, workshops and training including allergies, childhood nutrition, guiding and caring, special needs, aboriginal focused child care, working with LGBTQ children and families, and mindfulness strategies for children. I would prefer to work within the city of Vancouver only, but could travel to Burnaby, Richmond or the North Shore depending on when you would need child care and where you are located. I do not have a full drivers license currently. I usually cycle everywhere. But I am very familiar with getting around Vancouver and using transit. I take pride in being very reliable and confident in providing quality child care. I truly enjoy working around children, building connections with them and learning so much from them as well.
