I work from 8:00 am- 4:30 pm each day for eight weeks during the summer months. My main responsibility is to make sure that each child has a safe and fun summer. For the first 3 years, I have worked in the Kindergarten through 3rd grade girl camp units. For the last two Summers, I worked as a Specialist. Specialist position I worked in was cooking along another Cooking Specialist. The day is structured with seven periods of various activities. Our responsibilities as counselors is to lead the children in activities such as crafts, cooking, swimming, ropes course, sports, and games. I was promoted from Counselor in Training “CIT” after one year to a Junior Counselor. Then I was promoted from Junior Counselor after 2 years to a Specialist.
