Resume Summary: Hi! My name is Marlyn but call me Lynn! I’m an experienced sitter for children and animals, living in Lakewood, California. I am responsible, caring, and a dedicated individual. I am open for travel and to help on vacations with your family members, as well as after school and evening services for date nights and errands. Description of Skills: I have a masters degree in social work and a lot of experience with children and youth of all ages. I will take care of your children on date night and can provide after school care and evening care, even an overnight or two; if planned in advance. I have experience as a mother myself, having raised two adult daughters who are grown and with their own families now. I was a child-therapist for years working with children of all ages and their families. I have extensive training in childhood development, deescalation and calming techniques for when a child is upset or angry. I can teach simple mindfulness training as well to show children how to better cope with difficult feelings appropriately and get their needs met quicker; without acting out. I have many other trainings as well and I will be glad to provide those upon request and/or my college transcripts as well. Mostly, I love to read to the children, play board games and Simon says or bake cookies and watch Disney movies. I have the skills and training to handle just about any difficulty or emergency that could ever arise.
