Hi, my name is Blair. I am about to turn 23 years old and am looking for a career as a nanny or baby sitter in the evenings. I offer an extensive background of success in this field I have been a nanny for 6 years and I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge about children in that time. I have taken college course towards a degree in elementary education which provided training in infant to 12 year old children. These classes also taught me how to create a curriculum and educational plans for children reaching developmental milestones. I have also worked at an elementary school as an educational aide for the past 3 years for the Shawnee Mission School District where I have worked with students from the ages of Preschool-6th Grade. Through that job, I learned patience, communication, and problem solving skills. An elementary school is a very busy places it requires me to be professional with students, parents, and teachers, but also have a busy scheduled and to be adaptable to work with that schedule. I like to go at a job with a positive attitude and even got nicknamed Mary Poppins at this job for always having a smile on my face. I was previously a nanny in Australia during the year of 2016. While there I worked with and infant (boy), 4 year old (boy), and 6 year old (girl). I traveled with the family and stayed home with the children while the parents were out of town. They were a very busy family, so my schedule was not set until sometimes a few hours before I was set to work. I have worked as a caretaker for a young man with Down syndrome part time for the past 6 years. Working with him requires the skills of being patient, having good communication with his parents, being adaptable with his schedule, and creating educational activities to do with hime everyday. Furthermore, I do not smoke, drink rarely, I have a Kansas Driving license, and reliable vehicle. I have many references whose information I would be happy to pass along to you as well.
