Who I Am: Hello my name is Millie. I am a 50-year-old mother of 3 young adults, who is moving to Rochester, MN in June. I'm looking to help busy parents out with childcare up to four days per week or 30 hours per week. I am a knowledgeable and flexible candidate, who especially enjoys all the stages from six months to three years! Older siblings are great too! I have not worked in the schools for several years, but I am a licensed in Wisconsin as a cross categorical special education teacher. In addition, I taught reading for several years through a private non-profit learning center, to students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, ages 6-60. I've also tutored in areas like math through beginning algebra, writing, and other college success skills. Services And Training: While I'm mostly interested in opportunities in infant and toddler care, I can take care of some school-age transport to and from extracurriculars, homework help, and so on. Especially with kids preschool and below, I love taking little adventure to libraries, parks, museums, nature center, or even just neighborhood walks. I worked in infant and toddler daycare centers in Michigan when my own children were small; while we lived in Wisconsin, most of my teaching experience has come with literacy and special education, ages 6-14. Most recently, however, I care for a friend's two boys who are now aged 17 months and 4 years, three days per week: March 2017-May 2018.
