Nice to meet you! My name is Cecilia, I am 20 years old, and I’m currently attending Franciscan University as a Social Work major. I’ve got almost 8 years experience working with kids. I've worked with all age groups and I'm capable of heavy housework, light meal prep, running errands and providing transportation. I speak both English and Spanish and I teach all of my charges (with the permission of their parents) Spanish and a little bit of ASL or baby signing. I have experience with large families and busy lifestyles as well as small families and laid-back schedules. There are three things that I think are extremely important in the lives of children, things I put into my childcare routine. The first is love, children should know that no matter what, their caregivers love them and care for their well-being. I make sure that all of my charges know that I care about them and all that I do for them is because I care about them. The second is structure. Children thrive on rules and direction and I make sure that I tell the children I care for that I expect respect for myself and others. The third is capability and confidence, children should feel capable as people. I help them realize that they are capable in many ways and I help them become capable in others. I care for every one of my charges as if they are my own children and I realize the privilege it is to be trusted with others' children and I would be honored if you trusted me in the same way.
