I have diverse experience in child care. I worked for the school system, East Lake High for six years as a guidance secretary and a ESE Aide. Before that, I volunteered at the elementary level as a youth motivator checked for head lice and did many odds and ends to help the teacher. I presently baby-sit on and off for my grandchildren that are 2, 6 and 9 year old. I'm looking to care for newborns up to school age children at my home in Dunedin. I have a huge play area and swing set in the back yard that my grandson's think it's their own "Park", so the children to run and play. I not only "watch" your children, I also sing, dance, read, play math games and go on adventures in the back yard. I also believe in nap time, and have 4 beds for each child I care for. I also have a separate bedroom if one of the children become sick. 4 years ago I was going to open up my own day care here at my home, I took all the DCF test,passed them all and was about to be fingerprinted and was offered a job I couldn't refuse at the time. So now, I'm back to square one and will take in at least 3 children. I now take care of one child 2 years old, he is a great child, very smart. I have two spots left. A little more back ground about me. I was a stayed home mom for 15 years and raised my three children by myself. My first job here in Florida was at East Lake High School as the Guidance Secretary (I wish I never left this job) I was here for 7 years. I got divorced in 2000 and moved to the Largo area and became a Legal Secretary for the State Attorney's office on 49th St. I graduated from ParaLegal School in 2003 then went to the Public Defender's Office. I was laid off from the PD's office after 4 years working with them. This is when I was going to open my own Day Care. However, I had gotten a call from Clearwater Pain Management to do Medical Reception where I was let go due to a new management coming in and cutting cost. I am no longer going to work for anyone but myself. I passion is with children and helping them learn and while learning having a fun time in doing so.
