Sitter in Monterey, California

Hey, there! My name is Stephani Smith and I am a current fourth year undergraduate attending CSU Monterey Bay. I am currently studying Environmental Studies with a concentration in the Science for Sustainable Communities. I am the current Senator for Sustainability for Associated Students (student government). After college I hope to either join the Peace Corps or begin an internship for a non-profit organization in Washington (ewg). In the future, I want to work with low-income communities that suffer from both environmental and social injustice. Through either policy or non-profit educational outreach, I hope to bring healthy and productive change within these communities. I believe creating a compassionate, healthy and nutritious environment for both children and adults will contribute to the longevity and prosperity of happiness and life. As of now, I am a barista at Carmel Roasting Company in Seaside and am looking for a replacement job. I find that repetitive jobs, such as being a barista, is unfulfilling and absorbs a lot of my time. The reason why I am looking for a sitting job is plain and simple: I love children! In truth, kids inspire me daily. I appreciate their willingness to try new things and their innovative spirit. I grew up helping babysit and do house chores for my aunt since the age of twelve. I have taken care of infants, toddlers and younger children. I understand the importance of play-time and creative thinking as well as structure and discipline. I am currently en route to receiving CPR certification and taking online babysitting classes through Red Cross.
