Lets face it, childcare is expensive. Many moms, like myself, can't afford the cost but also can't afford to not work. Friends and family can only help so much and it can put a strain on the relationship as well. Or maybe you are an at home mom who really just needs a break. So, here's my idea...a childcare exchange. Its simple, I need someone to watch my kids a couple days a week while I'm at work, you need someone to watch your kids a couple days a week while you're at work, taking a break, or doing errands. So we swap. The rules: First, everything has to be equal. If you need childcare 40 hrs a week, you have to be willing to give childcare 40hrs a week. Secondly, if you commit to a day then you do it. This is about helping each other out. So please, no last minute bailing out or not showing up (emergencys are different, of course). Lastly, there is absolutely no money involved. None, nada, zip.
