I graduated from UW-Madison in 2016, with degrees in Zoology and Conservation Biology, and a certificate in environmental studies. I am very passionate about animals, the Earth, and the environment. I believe in being a responsible consumer, and choose to support environmentally friendly, ethical businesses, and lifestyle practices. I am a very active and energetic person, and love spending time with children. I am an outdoor enthusiast, and I believe that children thrive in outside play. My love for children stems from my belief that children will shape our future world, and that I can contribute to the world by helping shape their young minds. Children are also amazing teachers, with an amazing capacity of thought, love, and understanding. Through years of childcare experience, I have became the patient, positive, confident person that I am today. I have learned how to handle a range of situations, keeping calm and positive through them all. It is clear that I have become a better person through the lessons of children, which has in turn substantially improved my teaching ability. I feel children learn from observing those around them, and I strive to live my life in a way that would inspire kind, thoughtful behavior in children. My babysitting/teaching style is very interactive, as I enjoy engaging in imaginative, hands-on, artistic, and active play. In the near future I intend to return to school to pursue an education degree, with hopes of becoming a kindergarten teacher. My babysitting experience started when I took a babysitting course at 10 years old, and babysat for friends and family occasionally. For two years in high school, I volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for a class of 15 kindergarten students. Each week we actively learned, created, and played in a hands-on style. I have since nannied for three summers, nannied toddler twins, and babysat occasionally for multiple families. I have worked as a summer camp teacher for a daycare style camp of around 100 school-aged children, as well as a coach in a soccer development program for classes with children aged 18mo-9yrs. I am adult and pediatric CPR/AED certified, and have experience sitting for children with autism and dietary restrictions. I have also provided overnight care to multiple families..... most recent many position lasted 2.5 years, with me leaving this summer as the kids transitioned to elementary school. I now work part time with a dog trainer/boarder, and teach heated power yoga a few times a week.
