Sitter in Cumming, Georgia

I'm an
Individual
Hello! My name is Victoria, and I am searching for a part-time job caring for an infant in Cumming, Georgia, or in towns within a 5-10 mile radius. I am 53 years old and have two children of my own: Katie is 22 and Patrick will be 11 in December. My husband John and I tried for several years to get pregnant with Patrick, and our wish came true later in our lives. I was 42 and John was 45, and God’s timing couldn’t have been any better! Patrick has kept us young, and Katie is an incredible sister. She has been a nanny for 6 years, and is currently working for a family with a 3 month old. She had a lot of practice with her baby brother, and, like me, adores infants. Both of my children were meconium babies, and Patrick was in the neo-natal icu for a week because he ingested the feces into his lungs. He was born on December 22nd, and opened his eyes for the first time on Christmas morning. It was our best Christmas, by far! When the doctor rushed in to get Patrick to the icu unit, we were naturally alarmed and terrified. (He was premature as it was, and my older age was also a concern). It was touch and go for the first few days, and then they reassured us that he would recover. Katie’s meconium wasn’t as severe, and the doctors were able to hand her to me after several minutes. Patrick and Katie were very different as babies; Katie was a week late, and came out very strong and strong-willed. She walked at 10 months, and was potty trained (she practically trained herself:) before the age of two. By three, she was dressing herself! Patrick was 2 1/2 weeks premature, and was fragile. To this day, he would allow me to dress him and tie his shoes! He started walking at 13 months, and the potty training was slow going. Once trained, he wet the bed for a few years. He has turned out great and Mom was right: “I never sent a child to Kindegarten in diapers”...and she had six of us:) Mom spent the last six months of her life living in our home; she moved down from my hometown of New Jersey in November, and Patrick arrived a month later. She, too, adored infants, and got to spend her final days holding and loving her grandson. Mom had advanced Emphysema and was in remission from lung cancer. I wasn’t working at the time, so was able to care for her and my newborn. She actually helped out when I drove Katie to school each day. I really believe that she was happiest when she was with Patrick. With Patrick’s school schedule, I am available between the hours of 9:30 and 1:30 M-F. I would like to work between 15-20 hours each week. I know that I would be an incredible caretaker for your infant. Whether it’s pets, babies and/or the elderly, I have an abundance of love and quality care to give. I would love to meet you and your family, and I look forward to the chance to work for you! Thank you for your consideration, Victoria
