I'm an
Individual
Hello! My name is Kyleigh B. and I am originally from a small town in Indian. I graduated from Indiana State University with a dual-degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and a certified Reading Specialist and Reading Recovery Teacher. In addition to my classroom experience, I have also worked with students with special needs at an Autism Center. I am a certified Elementary & Special Education Teacher with experience working with grade levels K-5. I have tutored for several families in the Georgia area ranging from ages 4-9, focusing on the areas of reading, writing and math. My dual-bachelor degrees in education and teaching experience, combined with my enthusiasm and dedication makes me a strong educator in this world. Teaching is more than a profession; it is my passion. Through my educational experiences, I have developed what the term “good teaching” really means. I define this term as the ability to realize that each student is different and unique in every way, must be capable of listening, reflecting, and being responsive and adjusting curriculum and lesson plans to meet all individual needs. I have learned the good teaching is about the students and not the material. In order to become a highly effective teacher, it is important to build relationships, have specific and unique methods to motivate students to learn and also to teach them how to learn. I believe that teaching is a calling, not just to the mind, but also to the heart. Here are some highlights of what I have to offer: -Certified Reading Specialist -Certified Reading Recovery Teacher -Experiencing with low-achieving students and providing them the instruction and intervention necessary for them to be successful in the classroom -Daily 1:1 instruction -Differentiated Instruction - Understand the link between teaching reading and writing are reciprocal -Patience -Flexibility -Differentiate instruction based off student needs -Scaffolding Instruction for student independence and success -Expectations -Motivating students -Materials I am excited to bring my skills and strategies to help your child learn to love reading. I look forward to meeting you and your student!
