Sitter in Forest, Virginia

I'm an
Individual
At Forest Family Child Care, I provide quality, Christian-based child care M-F in my smoke-free home for infants, toddlers, & preschoolers. Come August 15th, I will have 2 openings - 1 full-time & 1 full-time or part-time. Consider what the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC), of which I am a member, says about home-based child care. "Significant research has provided evidence that warm, loving, and home-like settings are natural learning environments for children during early childhood. While offering the safety and comfort of home, and providing a consistent caregiver throughout the years, family child care is the preferred arrangement for many parents." I love kids and have over 20 yrs. of experience in caring for infants on up! I have worked in multiple preschools going back to 1990. I have raised 3 kids of my own (ages 16, 19, & 22), and I have volunteered in various children's ministries over the years at my church. I was last certified by the American Red Cross in Adult and Pediatric 1st Aid/CPR/AED on 2/20/16 (I do it yearly!). My goal is to provide the best care in the cleanest and safest environment possible. Toys are kept clean, surfaces are sanitized daily, and carpet is vacuumed every night. We have a daily schedule which includes both fun and educational activities both indoors and out (weather permitting). Outdoors, we take walks and enjoy our backyard play area. Indoors, we enjoy reading books, coloring/painting, working with play-dough, and building with Legos. The kids and I also do puzzles and crafts together. I especially love music, so we sing fun songs, educational songs, Bible songs, and songs with motions. We use every opportunity to work on shapes, colors, numbers and letters. During our table time each day, we also engage in sensory play and work on developing fine motor skills. No need to pack food. I provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. I also take care of laundering as all bedding is washed at the end of every week. I provide diapers and wipes, and I can also assist with potty training. So, whether you are a new mom going back to work, or you are new to the area and looking for quality childcare, you can rest assured that your child will enjoy their time here, will receive the attention that they deserve, and will be properly cared for and loved! My home will be their home away from home! :)

Alyssa has taken care of our children for over 2 years. She is reliable, hard working, and makes her home our children's home away from home. She teaches them letters, numbers, and provides sensory activties. She has a nice outdoor play area, and our children love going there. She provides excellent care. It is also very neat and clean. I would highly recommend her.
