Sitter Job in Rancho Cordova, California

Seeking a part time caregiver for our 17-year-old son who has physical and intellectual disabilities. Our son is non-verbal, very expressive with few signs, gestures and vocalizations. He is independently mobile and ambulatory, yet requires full-time supervision and assistance with all activities of daily living including cooking, meal preparation, feeding, hygiene, dressing, toileting, safety, laundry, etc. He is a very happy and friendly boy. He enjoys personal interaction with others, swimming, biking at home, walking, going to the park, running errands and being out in the community, including youth group, bowling, Ssoccer and other social activities. Job hours : 1st Shift - Mon thru Sat from 6:00 a.m. 8:00 a.m. 2nd Shift Mon thru Thu from 3:00 p.m. 5:30 p.m. You can apply for one or both shifts. Start date : Anytime after Sept 1st 2015. Pay : Rates would be based on experience and educational background. Applicant Requirements: Must be fluent in English Have reliable transportation, valid California driver's license a clean driving record and auto insurance. Ability to stand, sit, squat, bend and twist. Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to give a 1 year commitment Must clear a background check including fingerprints applied privately or approved through IHSS. Experience caring for or working with developmentally disabled or special needs children helpful but not required.
