I am a fun, patient, and energetic mom of one baby boy. I am looking to nanny in my own home for a family who needs it. I do not believe in traditional daycare. I think if you're going to spend the money for someone to watch your child you should be getting the best service out there and that is what I strive to do. Daycares, in my opinion, cannot provide the one-on-one attention most babies and toddlers demand and are simply overcrowded. I would like to take in another child or two, preferably around my son's age (18 months and under). I believe every child should be watched and cared for like it was being done by their own parents. I have been a babysitter since my early teen years and a nanny for two girls from infants into their toddler years while I was attending UNCW. I love kids! I am a creative sitter. I will not be one to just sit around. Even babies (when awake, he he) need the right stimulation for their age group. I do not agree with sitters who think their job is to just simply watch the children. I aim more to engage and entertain them while teaching all sorts of positive behaviors and activities. My wish is to be that home away from home feel for your child. I am not scared of dirty diapers, boogers, tears and tantrums (although ideally we'd like to avoid all tears but as parents we know that's sometimes impossible). I have a clean, smoke free home, and my own transportation. I am able to pick up and drop off. And as the kids get older, visit parks, museums, beaches, and wherever you as a parent feel comfortable with your child exploring.
