Personal Profile: Hello, my name is Sedia. I am a sophmore at the University of Georgia, and I'm looking for baby sitter placement in the Athens area. I'm hoping to apply my abilities as a baby sitter. I am available as required. Description of Skills: Since the age of 13, I have been interested in childcare due to my love for children and the number of parents needing babysitters in my neighborhood. Therefore, I earned my Safe Sitter Certificate in 2011 from Wellstar Hospital. I then began advertising my sitter services in my neighborhood. In the summer of 2011, I babysat a six month old and five year old ,twice a week, for a time period of four hours each day. My responsibilities included playing with them, assisting them with educational activities, and preparing snacks and dinner for them. I cared for these two children for a consecutive period of two summers, until the family moved from my neighborhood. After they moved, I occasionally babysat a three year old, eight year old, and ten year old on Friday evenings. Additionally, in the spring of 2017, I tutored a seven year old twice a week. My tutoring was focused upon the child practicing their reading skills and word prononciation. In addition, I have a six year old brother that I am responsible for during summer and spring breaks. My responsibilities include getting him dressed for the day, feeding him, taking him to activities, and assisting him with school work. I take care of him from seven a.m. in the morning until seven p.m. in the evening. Pertaining to role modeling experience, I served as a mentor for third graders through my sophomore to senior year of highschool. My responsibilities included planning fun after-school activities for the students, assisting them with homework, and sharing advice pertaining to social or educational concerns.
